We are the Augusta / Aiken Chapter of The United States Amateur Dance Association. Established in 1999, we are a non-profit organization for the purpose of promoting ballroom dancing. USA Dance

 MISSION STATEMENT OF USA DANCE CHAPTER 6074

As a chapter of USA Dance, it is our mission to improve the quantity and quality of ballroom dancing in the Central Savannah River Area. We strive to provide a common bond in the dance community by supporting all professional studios as well as amateur dance organizations in their efforts to develop ballroom dancing.

The United States Amateur Dance Association is a national organization devoted to promoting dancing on both a leisure and competitive basis. To learn more about USA Dance, you can click HERE and view their promotional video.

 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR:

Bob Anzuoni President of USA Dance Chapter presented an award to John White at our First Saturday night dance 4 January 2014.
John was selected as the outstanding Volunteer of the year for USA Dance Chapter #6074.  He has given so much of his time and talent
to the Chapter. Congratulation to John from the Chapter members.

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY:

Congratulations to our volunteer of the month for January 2014, Paulette Harris, who handled the Silent Auction at our December fundraiser.

Congratulations to our volunteer of the month for February 2014, Sidney Hutchinson, who handles our publications and coordinates for security.

Congratulation to our volunteer of the month  of June , Edwina Hutchinson for serving as Vice President.  Works with the Senior dance program, assist with the Wounded Warrior's Project and greets guest and members as they attend the USA Dance.

From the President:
Dear Members and Friends,
    Thank you to all who supported our First Saturday Dance in September. I appreciate all the volunteers who decorated, collected admission, prepared the music, brought food, and assisted with clean up.
   A special thank you to all our members who participated in the visit to Pruitt Health on September 26 for their Family Day.  The residents and staff greatly appreciated what we did and have asked us to return.    
   As always, I thank all of our members and friends for making USA Dance Greater Augusta Chapter a great place to be!
    
1st Saturday Dance:
    Saturday October 4 will be our next dance – It will be a Halloween Costume Dance, so dress up if you like and bring you favorite food or soft drinks to share.
    Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for social time. We will begin with at 8:00 p.m. with general dancing until 11:00 p.m.  Admission is $8 for members; $10 for non-members; and $5 for military. Location: American Legion Post 63, Milledge Road, Augusta, GA.
   
Thursday Evening Lessons:
    We will begin our series of Rumba and Syncopated Hustle lessons on Thursday October 2.  Lessons begin at 6:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 63. Cost is $5per person for both lessons.

Friday Evenings:
    Ballroom Dance Center, located on Grand Slam Dr., the Every Friday Night
        Dance starts at 8:00 p.m. with a thirty-minute lesson.   Admission: $10.   
    Lessons for October:  3rd - ChaCha; 10th - American Tango; 17th – Foxtrot;   
    24th - West Coast Swing; 31st (Haunted Eye Ball) - Monster Mash

    American Legion Post 63, located on Milledge Rd., Weekly Friday Night
        Dance with live band starts at 8:00p.m.   Admission: $10.
    Disabled American Veterans #43, located on Highway 1, Aiken, SC, Weekly
        Friday Dance starts at 7:30 p.m.  Live band – Yesterday’s Sounds. Admission:
        $6 (includes ticket to win a free admission).
    Augusta Latin Nights, located at the Ramada Hotel on Broad Street, starts at
        9:30 p.m. with a Salsa lesson and goes until 3:00 a.m.!  Admission: $10.

First Saturday:
    USA Dance Greater Augusta Chapter #6074 First Saturday Dance starts at 8:00
        p.m. Admission: $10; Members $8; Military $5.

Second Saturday:
     Ballroom in Motion, located at the Elks Lodge, doors open at 7:30 p.m.  Starts
      at 8:00 p.m. with a free thirty-minute lesson.  Admission: $10.

Third Saturday:
     Superior Salsa Dance Academy, located on Washington Road, Third Saturday
        Salsa Dance starts at 8:00 p.m.  Admission: $10.

Fourth Saturday:
    A&E Dance Studio, located on Pendleton St. in Aiken, Fourth Saturday Dance
        starts at 8:00 p.m. with a free thirty-minute lesson. Admission: $10.
 
Every Saturday:
    Augusta Christian Singles, located at the Ballroom Dance Center in Evans,
        Weekly Saturday Dance.  Free one-hour lesson starts at 6:30p.m. Admission:
        $10; $8 for members. You must be single to attend.

Third Sunday:
    A&E Dance Studio, located on Pendleton St. in Aiken, Argentine Tango
        Workshop from 2-4 p.m.  ($40); Tango Practica from 4-7 p.m.  ($10).

Special Events This Month!
    American Legion Post 71, located at 333 E. Spring Grove Ave. in North
        Augusta, SC, Oldies but Goodies Dance Night, Starts at 7:30 p.m. and goes
        until 10:30 p.m. Friday October 17. Admission: $15.
    Elks Lodge, located at Elkdom Ct., Oktoberfest Dinner Dance, Friday October
        17. Dinner served at 7:00 p.m., band begins at 8:00 p.m. Admission: $20.
    Ballroom in Motion, located at the Elks Lodge, Pink Party, Saturday October
        25.  Details to follow.
    Ballroom Dance Center, located on Grand Slam Dr., Get Happy Augusta
        Premiere Friday, October 10. General dancing will begin at 8:00 that evening
        followed by the premiere showing of “Get Happy Augusta” at 9:00.  There
        will be dancing, light refreshments, more dancing, prizes and more dancing at
        the showing.  We hope you’ll join us and be one of the first to view this
        phenomenal video on Augusta and the fun all of us have dancing.  You may
        even want to wear some “happy” gear. Haunted Eye Ball, Friday October 31. 
        Celebrate BDC’s 22nd Birthday! It's an evening you don't want to
        miss!  We'll be dancing to the "Monster Mash" and other fun songs.  You can
        count on plenty of general dancing!  There will also be a costume contest, so 
        be sure to come in costume or just dress festively.  There will be solo numbers 
        performed by some of our students during the evening and refreshments for
        you to enjoy.  Admission: $15.

Weekly Notice
Thursday October 23, 2014

Dear Members and Friends,
    Thursday evening October 23 we will continue our series of lessons with Rumba and Syncopated Hustle.  Please see the notes below for details and for other dance events this weekend.
  
USA Dance - Thursday evening group lessons. From 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 63 on Milledge Road. The lessons for October are Rumba and Syncopated Hustle. Cost: $5 per person.

Ballroom Dance Center – Located on Grand Slam Dr., Evans, GA, the Every Friday Night Dance starts at 8:00 p.m. with a thirty-minute lesson.   Admission is $10.

American Legion Post 63 – Dance every Friday evening with a live band. Located at Post 63 on Milledge Road. From 8:00 p.m. to11:00 p.m.  Cost: $10.

Disabled American Veterans #43, Aiken, SC, weekly Friday dance starts at 7:30 p.m. Live band – Yesterday’s Sounds. Cost is $6 (includes ticket for a drawing to win free admission).

Augusta Christian Singles – Every Saturday Night Dance at the Ballroom Dance Center. Starts at 6:30 p.m. with a one-hour lesson. Cost: $10 (non-members); $8 (members).  Must be single to attend.

A&E Dance Studio, located on Pendleton St. in Aiken, Fourth Saturday Dance (Halloween Dance October 25) from 8:00 p.m.  to 11:00 p.m. with a free lesson at 8:30 and a special performance at 9:30.  Please bring your favorite dish or drink to share and wear your favorite costume. Cost: $10.

Special Events This Month!
Ballroom Dance Center – Located on Grand Slam Dr., Evans, GA, Haunted Eye Ball, October 31. Have you made your plans for Halloween yet? Join the BDC family on October 31st as they celebrate and dance the night away! Not only will they be celebrating Halloween at The Haunted Eye Ball, but they'll also be celebrating The BDC's 22nd Anniversary and Val's 50th Birthday!
The evening starts at 8:00 p.m. with everyone dancing to "The Monster Mash" during the group lesson.  There will be plenty of general dancing throughout the night!  There will be a costume contest, too, so be sure to come in costume or just dress in your most fun outfit.  There will be pro/am exhibition dances, as well as two incredible formation numbers.  Admission is $15 per person and includes delicious refreshments, BIRTHDAY CAKE and an evening full of fun!
