We are the Augusta / Aiken Chapter of The United States Amateur Dance Association. Established in 1999, we are a non-profit organization for the purpose of promoting ballroom dancing. USA Dance

 MISSION STATEMENT OF USA DANCE CHAPTER 6074

As a chapter of USA Dance, it is our mission to improve the quantity and quality of ballroom dancing in the Central Savannah River Area. We strive to provide a common bond in the dance community by supporting all professional studios as well as amateur dance organizations in their efforts to develop ballroom dancing.

The United States Amateur Dance Association is a national organization devoted to promoting dancing on both a leisure and competitive basis. To learn more about USA Dance, you can click HERE and view their promotional video.

 VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR:

Bob Anzuoni President of USA Dance Chapter presented an award to John White at our First Saturday night dance 4 January 2014.
John was selected as the outstanding Volunteer of the year for USA Dance Chapter #6074.  He has given so much of his time and talent
to the Chapter. Congratulation to John from the Chapter members.

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH FOR JANUARY:

Congratulations to our volunteer of the month for January 2014, Paulette Harris, who handled the Silent Auction at our December fundraiser.

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH FOR FEBRUARY:

Congratulations to our volunteer of the month for February 2014, Sidney Hutchinson, who handles our publications and coordinates for security.

From the President:

Dear Members and Friends,
    Thank you to all who supported our First Saturday Dance in June. I was unable to attend, but look forward to seeing all of you at the next one. I appreciate all the volunteers who decorated, collected admission, prepared the music, brought food, and assisted with clean up.
     Some of you have been absent from our monthly dances.  We hope you will join us for the next dance.  If you have not been able to attend due to a health issue please let us know so we may keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
    I would like to thank all of our members and friends for making USA Dance Greater Augusta Chapter a great place to be!
    
1st Saturday Dance:

    Saturday July 5 will be our next dance. Join us as we celebrate Independence Day with the Red, White, and Blue Ice Cream Social!  What better way to beat the heat than to have ice cream? Wear red, white, and blue and bring your favorite toppings.  Free ice cream!  Doors will open at 7:15 p.m. and serving will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by a free thirty-minute dance lesson at 8:00 p.m. and general dancing until 11:00 p.m.  Admission is $8 for members; $10 for non-members; and $5 for military. Location: American Legion Post 63, Milledge Road, Augusta, GA.
   
Thursday Evening Lessons:

    There will be NO lesson Thursday July 3.  We will begin our monthly series of lessons with East Coast Swing and Foxtrot on Thursday July 10. Since there are five weeks in July we will still be able to have for weeks of lessons. Lessons begin at 6:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 63. Cost is $5per person for both lessons.

Weekly/Monthly Events:

    Don’t forget to support dancing in our local area while doing what you love to
do.  Please see the following listing.
Friday Evenings:
    Ballroom Dance Center, located on Grand Slam Dr., the Every Friday Night
        Dance starts at 8:00 p.m. with a thirty-minute lesson.   Admission is $10.
        There will be NO dance Friday July 4.  Lessons for July are: 11th – West
        Coast Swing with Robin Smith, July 18th – Cha Cha, July 25th – Foxtrot.
    American Legion Post 63, located on Milledge Rd., with live band starts at
        8:00p.m.   Admission is $10.
    Disabled American Veterans #43, located on Highway 1, Aiken, SC, weekly
        Friday dance starts at 7:30 p.m. Live band – Yesterday’s Sounds. Cost is $6.
        They WILL have a dance July 4 with food.  Feel free to bring a dish.
    Augusta Latin Nights, located at the Ramada Hotel on Broad Street, starts at
        9:30 p.m. with a Salsa lesson and goes until 3:00 a.m.!  Admission is $10.

First Saturday:
    USA Dance Greater Augusta Chapter #6074 First Saturday Dance starts at 8:00
        p.m. Admission is $10; Members $8; Military $5.

Second Saturday:
     Ballroom in Motion, located at the Elks Lodge, doors open at 7:30 p.m.  Starts
      at 8:00 p.m. with a free thirty-minute lesson.  Admission: $10.00

Third Saturday:
     Superior Salsa Dance Academy, located on Washington Road, Third Saturday
        Salsa Dance starts at 8:00 p.m.  Admission is $10.

Fourth Saturday:
    A&E Dance Studio, located on Pendleton St. in Aiken, Fourth Saturday Dance
        starts at 8:00 p.m. with a free thirty-minute lesson. Admission is $10.

Every Saturday:
    Augusta Christian Singles Weekly Saturday Dance starts at 8:00 p.m. at the
        Ballroom Dance Center in Evans.  Free one-hour lesson starts at 6:30 p.m.
        Admission is $10; $8 for members. You must be single to attend.

Third Sunday:
    A&E Dance Studio, located on Pendleton St. in Aiken, Argentine Tango
        Workshop from 2-4 p.m.  ($40) followed by Tango Practica from 4-7 p.m. 
         ($10).

Dear Members and Friends,
     Thursday evening July 10, we will continue our series of lessons with East Coast Swing and Foxtrot.  Please see the notes below for details and for other dance events this weekend.
  
USA Dance - Thursday evening group lessons. From 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at American Legion Post 63 on Milledge Road. July’s lessons are East Coast Swing and Foxtrot. Cost: $5 per person.

Ballroom Dance Center – Located on Grand Slam Dr., Evans, GA, the Every Friday Night Dance starts at 8:00 p.m. with a thirty-minute lesson.   Admission is $10.

American Legion Post 63 – Dance every Friday evening with a live band. Located at Post 63 on Milledge Road. From 8:00 p.m. to11:00 p.m.  Cost: $10.

Disabled American Veterans #43, Aiken, SC, weekly Friday dance starts at 7:30 p.m. Live band – Yesterday’s Sounds. Cost is $6 (includes ticket for a drawing to win free admission).

Augusta Latin Nights – Latin dancing every Friday evening at the Ramada Hotel downtown Augusta. Starts at 9:30 p.m. with free Salsa lesson with dancing until 3:00 a.m. Cost: $10.

Augusta Christian Singles – Every Saturday Night Dance at the Ballroom Dance Center. Starts at 6:30 p.m. with a one-hour lesson. Cost: $10 (non-members); $8 (members).  Must be single to attend.

A&E Dance Studio, located on Pendleton St. in Aiken, Fourth Saturday Dance. Starts at 8:00 p.m. and includes a free thirty-minute lesson at 8:30. Cost: $10.00.

Special Events This Month!
    Augusta Swing Dance Social at the Cutno Dance Center located at 3497 Wheeler Road. Saturday July 26.  Starts at 7:300 p.m. with an East Coast Swing Lesson.  Dancing to swing music from 8:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Cost: $5.00.  Light refreshments will be served.

USA Dance First Saturday Dance – August 2nd
    It will probably be hot in August, so let’s have a Luau! People are encouraged to wear Hawaiian style shirts (no grass skirts, please). Bring Polynesian/Asian-Pacific dishes or other food and drinks to share.
